Spain made the stronger start on the scoreboard, moving 3-1 ahead after six minutes. Egypt responded quickly and reduced the gap to 4-3 by the eighth minute, before Spain restored a two-goal advantage at 5-3.

The Egyptian side continued to apply pressure and levelled the match at 7-7 after 15 minutes. Spain then moved back in front at 8-7 after 21 minutes, only for Egypt to draw level again at 9-9 two minutes later.

The score remained tied at 10-10 after 26 minutes. Spain edged ahead once more at 11-10, before Egypt equalised at 11-11 with two minutes remaining in the first half.

The closing minutes produced another tense exchange. Spain remained ahead at 24-23 after 55 minutes, leaving Egypt with a narrow opportunity to force a late turnaround.

That chance did not materialise. When the clock reached 60 minutes, Spain had held on to win 27-26, completing a one-goal victory in the semi-final.

The live match updates began with Spain leading 4-3 after six minutes and ended with the Spanish side still in front by the same narrow margin that had characterised much of the contest. Egypt’s 26 goals were not enough to take the match beyond Spain, which secured the victory by the final score of 27-26.
