South Sudan Football Federation pledges accountability after coach suspension
The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) has taken decisive action following a disappointing run of results in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and controversial comments from the national team’s Head Coach.
In an Extraordinary Executive Committee Meeting held on October 11, 2025, SSFF openly apologized to loyal fans, partners, and the entire football community for recent setbacks with a press release posted on the official Facebook page of the federation.
Demonstrating a commitment to professionalism and discipline, the Federation announced the immediate suspension of the Head Coach for fifteen days, citing breach of contract and violation of professional standards. To ensure transparency, an independent Investigation Committee has been formed to thoroughly examine the case and provide recommendations before the suspension period ends.
In the meantime, the Assistant Coach will step up as Acting Head Coach, ensuring the team’s ongoing preparations are uninterrupted. Throughout this transition, SSFF remains dedicated to regaining the trust of its supporters and reinforcing core values of integrity and transparency. The Federation assures everyone that building a resilient, competitive national team remains its highest priority.
By taking these steps, SSFF hopes to restore pride in South Sudan’s football and pave the way for a brighter future for both players and fans.
