South African youngster Thailon Smith is on the verge of joining English Championship club, Queens Park Rangers in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old centre-back is currently in England and is expected to undergo his mandatory medical test before putting pen to paper.
Smith is joining the Championship club from South African outfit Stellenbosch in a significant summer transfer.
The defender has attracted significant interest this summer despite not making any appearances for Stellenbosch. His exploits with the Bafana Bafana U20 national team caught the attention of several clubs including GPR, who are closing in on a move.
He was instrumental when the South African U20 team secured the Africa Cup of Nations title in Egypt few months ago.
His potential move will mark his first European adventure as he aim to attain greater height of his football career.
