Durban City are on the verge of securing the services of experienced defender Thulani Hlatshwayo in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The seasoned centre-back is currently a free agent following his departure from SuperSport United last month.
Durban City enjoyed a stellar campaign last season, earning promotion to the South African Premiership. In an attempt to make a meaningful impact, the newly promoted club has set sights on the 35-year-old defender.
Hlatshwayo featured for SuperSport United last season before departing the club at the end of the 2024/25 football season.
The 35-year-old defender has made 412 appearances in his Premiership career, scoring 25 goals and providing nine assists.
Meanwhile, Durban City, having secured promotion to the Betway Premiership following a successful campaign in South Africa’s second division, have opted to make a change at the helm. The club has reached an agreement with Gavin Hunt to take over the club.
