Newly-promoted South African Premiership side Durban City FC are pushing to sign Ghanaian goalkeeper Fredrick Asare.
The club has offered the goalkeeper a two-year contract as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Eager to maintain their top-flight status, the club is targeting experienced talent during the off-season.
Fredrick Asare, who is a former goalkeeper of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, has emerged as a key target.
The 26-year-old shot-stopper impressed Durban City officials during a recent trial and has since been formally offered a deal.
According to sources close to the player, Asare’s agent is currently reviewing the terms of the contract.
While the goalkeeper is reportedly open to making the switch to South Africa, he is not rushing into a decision. A final call on the proposed move is expected next week.
If the deal is accepted, Fredrick Asare will be joining Durban City FC as a free agent. He parted ways with Asante Kotoko in June after helping the team to win the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup.
