Tunisian tactician Nasreddine Nabi will not be in the dugout for Kaizer Chiefs when they take on Stellenbosch in the South African Premier League opener.
In a high-stake clash on Sunday, the Soweto giants will face Stellenbosch as both teams will be yearning for maximum points.
But Kaizer Chiefs will have to battle for points without their head coach as his wife was involved in a car accident in Tunisia.
A statement from the club confirmed Nabi’s unavailability for the clash, “Kaizer Chiefs would like to extend our heartfelt wishes to coach Nabi and his family during this difficult time. We ask all supporters to keep them in their thoughts and prayers,”
Kaizer Chiefs struggled last season despite ending their 10-year trophy drought in South Africa by clinching the FA Cup.
Having missed out on the top eight at the end of last season, Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to make a meaningful impact this time.
