South Africa international Gift Links has committed his future to Danish side AGF Aarhus by signing a long-term contract.
Links has been in the books of the Dutch outfit since 2019, establishing himself as a key member of the team. Ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign, the enterprising midfielder has penned a new deal keeping him at the club until summer 2029.
The 26-year-old played a pivotal role last season, helping AGF Aarhus to finish sixth in the Danish Superliga.
In his six-year spell at the club, Links has racked up 173 appearances for AGF Aarhus, scoring 13 goals and providing 18 assists across the period.
However, the club’s sporting director, Carsten V. Jensen has expressed his happiness after extending Links’ stay for a longer period.
“Gift is a standout player in the Superliga and a very important player for AGF. In recent years, he has also developed into a central figure in the squad and the club off the pitch as well. Because of his personal qualities, both the city and the club have embraced him. I’m very pleased that we’ve been able to extend his contract until 2029,” he said.
The former Cape Town City midfielder is expected to play a huge role for the Danish club next season.
