Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune has charged the club to sign a prolific attacker and a top goalkeeper ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign.
The Soweto giants has already augmented their squad with three new signings as they seek to compete for laurels next season. Kaizer Chiefs ended their trophyless drought last term, securing the South African Cup competitions, but fell short in the league after finishing out of the top eight at the end of the season.
However, the Amakhosi goalkeeper, who spent 20 years with the Soweto giants has implored the club to make significant investments in both a new goalkeeper and a new striker.
For Khune, the club can challenge for laurels with the acquisition of top goalkeeper and a striker.
“Strikers don’t come cheap, let’s be honest. They don’t, because strikers win you matches. If you have a quality striker and a quality goalkeeper, you know you will challenge for the championship every season.
When you invest in a good striker and a good goalkeeper, you’re guaranteed to be challenging for the title. So Kaizer Chiefs really need to go to the market and invest in a striker,” Khune stated in an interview with Soccer Laduma.
