South African forward Thabang Sibanyoni finds himself in a high demand as several clubs in the domestic scene circle for his services this summer.
With his contract expiring on June 30 and no contract renewal talks, the 29-year-old’s future with Mamelodi Sundowns hangs in the balance as the club has yet to trigger the one-year extension option.
Thabang Sibanyoni now faces a pivotal career decision, with multiple clubs circling for his signature.
The attacker was farmed out on loan mid-season, joining Magesi FC. The loan proved transformative both for the player and the club, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 18 league appearances.
His physicality, hold-up play, and clutch performances were instrumental in rescuing Magesi from relegation, with the Limpopo side narrowly securing 13th place in their maiden Betway Premiership campaign.
Magesi FC is now keen to retain their survival hero, but faces competition from fellow South African clubs, SuperSport United, Marumo Gallants and Durban, who are also interested in the attacker.
Despite holding the contract lever, the Brazilians—currently competing in the FIFA Club World Cup—have remained non-committal. This delay has opened the door for rival clubs to swoop in.
