South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs are expected to keep three key players ahead of the 2025/26 football campaign.
The Amakhosi outfit are seeking to build a formidable side for the new campaign following an inconsistent performance in the top-flight. Kaizer Chiefs are out of the Premier league race but are in contention for the Cup competition title after reaching semifinals.
Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi, who is currently in charge of the South African club wants to stabilize the team in an attempt to compete next season.
However, the club has decided to extend contract of three players to continue their trade with the club for the upcoming campaign.
South American midfielder Edson Castillo, whose contract was due to expire in June, has been offered a two-year deal. This means he will remain at the Chiefs at least until June 2027.
Pacey attacker Ashley du Preez has also confirmed signing a new two-year contract. Despite struggling for regular minutes under coach Nasreddin Nabi this season, the forward remains an important figure in the team.
Captain Youssef Maarat is expected to continue his trade with Kaizer Chiefs, with the club activating the extension clause.
Maart will remain at Chiefs next season, and in addition, both parties have agreed to another extension for an additional season (2026-2027).
He has made 90 appearances for the Soweto giants, scoring six goals and assisting eight others.
