South Africa striker Lyle Foster set to make injury return ahead of Burnley v Brentford clash

Burnley manager Scott Parker has offered an encouraging update on striker Lyle Foster, who missed last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea due to illness.

The South African forward was absent from the matchday squad at Stamford Bridge, but Parker indicated Foster is likely to return when Burnley hosts Brentford at Turf Moor on Saturday.

“Lyle’s trained this week,” Parker said at his pre-match press conference, as per Burnley Express.

“He’s back up to speed and had a good week’s training, so we’ll see how he is leading into the weekend and whether he’s selected.”

Parker also provided updates on injured duo Axel Tuanzebe and Armando Broja.

“Axel is probably still a few weeks away. He goes in for another injection, I think tomorrow, so he’s a little bit away,” he added.

“Armando’s probably on that same course. He’s just coming out of the back of some injections, so he’s just low level at the moment.

“He’ll pick up his work, but he’ll be a few weeks away as well.”

Burnley will be hoping Foster’s return can boost their attacking options as they look to climb the Premier League table.
