Collapsed in the dock, wiping his eyes with a handkerchief, the 27-year-old doubled over, holding his head in his hands before vomiting as the medical examiner described the condition of Reeva Steenkamp’s skull, shattered by a bullet.
Judge Thokozile Masipa prohibited the live broadcast, including audio and video, as well as any updates on Twitter, in response to the expert’s request at the trial. As the testimony continued, journalists in attendance witnessed Pistorius sobbing, slumped shoulders, and audible hiccups. The microphone had to be moved away to reduce the noise.
