Soumaila Sidibe emerges as Club Africain target after RS Berkane spell

Malian midfielder Soumaila Sidibe has been linked with a move from RS Berkane to Tunisian club Club Africain.

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder is under contract with the Moroccan side until 30 June 2027, meaning any move would require an agreement between the clubs unless his circumstances change before the proposed transfer.

Sidibe joined RS Berkane from Tunisia’s Etoile Sportive du Sahel on 17 August 2024, arriving on a free transfer. He has since been part of a side that won the Moroccan championship and the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2024-25 season.

His recent record includes 29 appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi, with one assist, while he has also featured in continental competition for RS Berkane. He scored once in eight CAF Champions League appearances and once in six CAF Confederation Cup appearances.

The possible move would take Sidibe back to Tunisia, where he previously won the Tunisian championship with Etoile Sportive du Sahel in 2022-23. Before joining that club, he had spells with El Ettihad and Al-Khums, having started his senior career at AS Police.

Sidibe’s market value is listed at €450,000, while his current agreement with RS Berkane remains in place until June 2027.
