Souleymane Faye: Senegal winger linked with FC Lorient move from Sporting
Souleymane Faye, the Senegalese winger at Sporting, is being linked with a move to FC Lorient in Ligue 1.
Faye joined Sporting from Granada CF on 21 January 2026 in a deal worth €6.3m and remains under contract with the Portuguese club until 30 June 2030. The 23-year-old right winger has made five Liga Portugal appearances since moving to Sporting, playing 84 minutes.
The Dakar-born player has also appeared twice in the Champions League and twice in the Taca de Portugal, although he has yet to score for Sporting. His current market value is listed at €3m.
Faye’s move to Portugal followed a season at Granada, where he made 19 LaLiga2 appearances, scoring twice and providing six assists. He had joined Granada from Betis Deportivo in July 2025 for €3.6m.
The Senegal international began his senior career with CF Talavera after leaving Galaxy Dakar and was part of the Senegal Under-20 side that won the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in 2023.
A move to Lorient would represent another transfer for Faye after a series of switches between Spanish and Portuguese clubs. The reported interest comes with the winger tied to Sporting for four more seasons, and no agreement has been confirmed.
