Rahimi wins league with Al Ain

Morocco international Soufiane Rahimi has been shortlisted for the UAE Pro League’s prestigious Golden Ball award after another impressive campaign with Al Ain.

The winners of the 2025-26 UAE Pro League Awards will be announced during a ceremony in Abu Dhabi on 10 August, with Rahimi among the leading contenders for the league’s top individual honour.

Rahimi among Al Ain’s standout performers

The Moroccan forward is one of five Al Ain players nominated for the Golden Ball, highlighting the club’s strong representation among the candidates for the Best Player award.

Rahimi is joined on the shortlist by teammates Matias Palacios, Kodjo Laba, Rami Rabia and Alejandro Romero.

They will compete against Nicolas Gimenez of Al Wasl, Shabab Al Ahli duo Yuri Cesar and Guilherme Bala, Al Wahda striker Omar Khribin and Khorfakkan’s Morocco international Tariq Tissoudali.

Several honours up for grabs

The UAE Pro League Awards recognise the standout performers from the 2025-26 season across a range of categories.

In addition to the Golden Ball for Best Player, the awards include the Golden Boy prize for the best player under the age of 23, the Golden Glove for the league’s top goalkeeper and the Coach of the Season award.

Fans will also vote for the Supporters’ Player of the Year and Goal of the Year awards.

Rahimi’s nomination is another significant recognition for the Moroccan forward, whose performances continue to enhance the growing influence of African players in the UAE Pro League.
