Al Ahly have completed the signing of Moroccan striker Soufiane Benjdida after reaching a full agreement with Maghreb de Fès, ending weeks of negotiations over one of the most closely followed transfers of the summer.

The Egyptian club have secured the services of the 24-year-old after lengthy discussions with Maghreb de Fès, with both clubs eventually agreeing on the financial terms of the deal.

The move brings an end to speculation surrounding Benjdida’s future after an impressive season that attracted interest from several clubs.

According to information, Al Ahly will pay a guaranteed transfer fee of $3 million, while an additional $500,000 could be paid through performance-related bonuses.

If those conditions are met, the overall value of the transfer will rise to $3.5 million.

The agreement also includes an important clause for Maghreb de Fès.

The Moroccan club negotiated a 25% share of the profit from any future resale of the striker, a condition that reportedly remained a key issue throughout negotiations before both parties reached a final agreement.

Al Ahly invest heavily in Moroccan striker

Benjdida’s arrival also reflects Al Ahly’s financial commitment to strengthening their squad ahead of the new season.

According to the same information, the Cairo club significantly improved the player’s salary package before finalising the transfer.

His annual salary has reportedly been increased to $1.3 million, underlining the club’s belief in his qualities and the role they expect him to play in their sporting project.

The improved financial package removed the final obstacle to the transfer.

The striker had already accepted Al Ahly’s proposal in principle several days earlier, while the remaining discussions focused on the agreement between the two clubs.

Once those financial details were settled, the move was completed, allowing Al Ahly to secure one of Moroccan football’s most sought-after forwards.

Record-breaking campaign attracts attention

Benjdida arrives in Egypt following an outstanding campaign with Maghreb de Fès.

The Moroccan international finished the Botola Pro season as the league’s top scorer after finding the net 20 times, establishing himself as one of the competition’s most productive attackers.

His goalscoring form drew interest from clubs outside Morocco, including teams in Russia.

Despite reportedly receiving a more lucrative financial proposal, the striker opted to continue his career with Al Ahly, favouring the Egyptian club’s sporting project.

That decision has now been rewarded with a move to one of Africa’s most successful clubs.

Major reinforcement for Al Ahly

Benjdida’s signing provides Al Ahly with another attacking option as the club prepares for domestic and continental competitions.

His arrival follows a season in which he demonstrated consistency in front of goal, making him one of the standout performers in Moroccan football.

By securing the signature of the Botola Pro’s leading scorer, Al Ahly have strengthened their attacking department with a player entering the next stage of his career after an exceptional campaign.

The transfer also concludes one of the summer’s longest negotiations, with both clubs ultimately reaching an agreement that satisfies all parties involved.
