Pyramids head coach Krunoslav Jurcic underlined the difficulty of his side’s upcoming CAF Champions League clash with Moroccan outfit RS Berkane, stressing that both teams know each other inside out after meeting three times in three months.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Croatian coach said facing the Confederation Cup holders as Champions League winners adds extra weight and intensity to Sunday’s game.
Jurcic pointed out that Pyramids and Berkane are level at the top of their group, which raises the stakes, as “any mistake could cost either team three points and complicate qualification.”
He explained that his players are fully focused on taking all three points to secure progress and break the deadlock at the summit, despite the heavy schedule and pressure the club faces domestically and continentally.
The Pyramids boss then hinted at what he feels is an unfair climate around his team, commenting that it seems “some people do not want Pyramids to win titles,” referring to his frequent dismissals from the touchline in recent months.
Jurcic believes sending him off has become a target for referees even when his protests are reasonable, particularly in recent league fixtures.
