Somalia defender Abdulahi Aqlan joins FC Forward after Dardania LS exit

Somalia centre-back Abdulahi Aqlan has joined Swiss club FC Forward on a free transfer from Dardania LS.

The 22-year-old defender completed the move on 25 August 2026, beginning a new chapter after a short spell with Dardania. Aqlan had joined the club in February after being without a club, and now switches to FC Forward without a transfer fee.

Aqlan made 30 appearances in the 2. Liga Inter – Group 1 during the 2025-26 season, playing 1,909 minutes. He also featured three times in the Swiss Cup qualifiers, adding a further 181 minutes to his campaign.

The centre-back’s move follows a period in which he established himself as a regular at Dardania after arriving midway through the season. His appearances came across league and cup competition, giving him a substantial run of competitive football before his transfer to FC Forward.

Aqlan previously spent time with FC Saint-Prex, joining that club from Terre Sainte Ju in August 2023 on a free transfer. He left FC Saint-Prex in July 2025 before returning to football with Dardania the following February.

Born on 13 August 2004, Aqlan represents Somalia and plays primarily in central defence. He joins FC Forward after accumulating senior experience in Swiss football and following a season in which he featured 33 times across the two competitions recorded.

FC Forward have secured the services of the Somalia international defender as a free agent from Dardania LS, with the transfer completed on 25 August 2026.
