Somali referee Omar Qartane will take charge of a thrilling CAF Champions League semi-final clash between Al Ahly and Sundowns.
The Confederation of African Football confirmed Qartane will officiate the first leg in Pretoria on Saturday. Al Ahly, fresh off a 2-0 victory over Sudan’s Al-Hilal, faces a tough test against the South African giants.
Qartane, known for his sharp decisions, will be joined by assistants Gilbert Cheruiyot and Stephen Onyango, with Peter Kamamu as the fourth official. Gabonese Pierre Atcho will handle video assistant duties alongside Ghanaian Daniel Laryea.
The second leg will be held on Friday, April 25, at Cairo International Stadium. Mauritanian referee Dahane Beideh has been appointed as the main referee for the match. He will be assisted by Ivorian Abdou Nouh as first assistant, Togolese Jonsan Koffi as second assistant, and Rwandan Samuel Okenda as fourth official. Ethiopian Bamlak Tessema will be the video assistant referee, assisted by referee Salima Mikusenga.
