Sofyane Bouzamoucha: French-Tunisian defender joins FCV Farul on free transfer from Rouen

French-Tunisian centre-back Sofyane Bouzamoucha has joined Romanian side FCV Farul on a free transfer from FC Rouen 1899. The 26-year-old defender moves into the SuperLiga after leaving the French club at the end of his spell in Ligue 3.

Bouzamoucha, who is right-footed and stands at 1.86m, arrives in Constanta with considerable experience of French lower-league football. He has featured regularly across Ligue 3 and the National divisions, building a reputation as a consistent presence in central defence.

The move to FCV Farul marks his first permanent switch outside France following a brief stint with Servette FC in Switzerland earlier in his career. He rejoined Rouen in January 2025 after that spell in Geneva and now takes the next step by heading to Romanias top flight.

Born in Trappes in May 2000, Bouzamoucha has accumulated well over 100 senior appearances in league and cup competitions, including outings in the Coupe de France and play-off matches between Ligue 2 and the National divisions. His game time has largely come at centre-back, with occasional contributions on the scoresheet in the French lower tiers.

Bouzamouchas move, completed on 8 July 2026, sees him join FCV Farul as a free agent, adding depth and experience to the Romanian clubs defensive options.
