Emmanuel Adebayor, the Togolese striker currently excelling in the Premier League with 8 goals in 11 matches, hasn’t overlooked his country’s participation in the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Togo was represented by two athletes: Mathilde PetitJean and Alessia Dipol.
PetitJean, aged 20, finished 68th in the 10 km cross-country ski race, while Dipol achieved 55th place overall in the giant slalom event held on Tuesday. Adebayor expressed his pride and support for the athletes on Twitter, congratulating them for their efforts and making Togo proud.
His tweet read: “Congratulations to Alessia Afi Dipol and Mathilde Petitjean. Great effort at the Winter Games. You make Togo proud.” This message serves as encouragement for Petitjean and Dipol, with hopes to see them compete again in the Winter Olympics in Korea in four years.
