Ismaily’s problems went from bad to worse following a tough 2-0 loss to Smouha in Alexandria.

This result marks Ismaily’s sixth straight defeat in the Egyptian Premier League, leaving the club stuck at the bottom of the table with just four points after ten matches.

The game saw Smouha break the deadlock in the 49th minute through a well-taken header by Pape Badji, quickly followed by a second from Ahmed Fawzi. Despite changes from both coaches after halftime, Ismaily’s young squad failed to create real chances, and the team looked demoralized after conceding.

After the match, club legend Mohamed Salah Abou Gresha made passionate television pleas, urging local officials to intervene before Ismaily’s situation gets even worse and warning that relegation is looming if things don’t change.

The club’s board has now called for an urgent general assembly to amend club regulations and is rumored to be considering new interim leadership. As some influential individuals are approached for help, and with threats of transfer bans and relegation, Ismaily faces one of the toughest periods in its proud history. Drastic measures could arrive soon to steer the club away from disaster.
