Smouha break through with Abdo Yehia’s late strike against Ismailia
Smouha finally found their spark in the Egyptian Premier League as they celebrated their first win of the season with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Ismailia Electricity on Tuesday night at the Ismailia Stadium.
The visitors started brightly and were rewarded early when Nigerian forward Samuel Amadi calmly slotted home in the eighth minute, sending the traveling fans into wild cheers. Ismailia responded strongly after the break, with Ali Soliman drawing them level in the 52nd minute, setting up a tense battle in the closing stages.
Just when it seemed the match would end in another frustrating draw for Smouha, Abdo Yehia rose to the occasion. In the 90+1 minute, he unleashed a fierce shot that thundered into the net, sealing three precious points and a moment of pure relief for his teammates and coach Ahmed Abdel Aziz.
The win lifts Smouha to 6 points and into fifth place, a welcome boost after three straight draws. For Ismailia, however, the struggle continues as they remain stuck on two points in 19th place under Reda Shehata’s guidance.
