The Egyptian Football Association’s refereeing committee has appointed a Slovenian team to oversee the Egyptian Premier League meeting between Zamalek and Al Ahly.
The sixth-round fixture will be played on Sunday, 11 October.
Rade Obrenovic has been named referee, with Jure Praprotnik and Grega Kordez appointed as his assistants. David Smajc will serve as the fourth official.
Matej Jug will take charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), while David Gabrovec has been selected as the Assistant Video Assistant Referee (AVAR).
Obrenovic is a Slovenian international referee and is regarded as one of UEFA’s elite officials. He has held international status since 2017.
His most recent international match involving national teams was Belgium’s meeting with France in the Nations League on 28 September 2026.
Zamalek go into the fixture second in the Egyptian Premier League with 13 points. They are ahead of third-placed Al Ahly only on goal difference.
