SK Sturm Graz interested in Dutch-Ghanaian defender Essien Bassey
Austrian outfit, SK Sturm Graz, have expressed firm interest to sign Dutch-Ghanaian defender Essien Bassey ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old, who plies his trade for PSV U21, has caught the attention of Sturm Graz, who are willing to secure his signature for the new football campaign.
According to reports, the Austrian outfit have made an official contact with the Dutch Eredivisie giants over a potential summer acquisition of the talented defender.
Despite interest in the defender, PSV are reportedly unwilling to sanction a move for the youngster considering his qualities.
Meanwhile, the fast-rising full-back will consider PSV departure in the upcoming window should the club fail to guarantee him first team action.
With his current deal expiring in 2027, it remains unknown whether PSV would cash in on the enterprising defender ahead of the next window.
Bassey has made 28 appearances for the PSV U21 team this season, serving five assists across competitions.
The 19-year-old defender remain eligible to represent Ghana at the international level.
