Siriky Diabate: Ivory Coast defender joins Vardar from Muaither SC

Ivory Coast centre-back Siriky Diabate has joined Vardar from Qatar-based club Muaither SC, completing a move to the Prva liga side on 25 August 2026.

Diabate, 23, arrives as a left-footed defender who stands 1.92m tall. The Gnakoragui-born player has played primarily at centre-back during his career and now adds his experience from football in France, Bulgaria and Qatar to Vardar’s squad.

His most recent club was Muaither SC, whom he joined from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv in July 2025. That move followed a spell with Botev, where he had been involved in the club’s senior set-up after joining from Amiens SC in February 2024.

Diabate’s time in Bulgaria also included a loan spell at Botev Vratsa during the 2024-25 campaign. He made nine appearances in the Vtora Liga and four in the Bulgarian Cup while with the club, before returning to Botev Plovdiv at the end of the season.

Across his recorded career, Diabate has made 17 appearances in Bulgaria’s efbet Liga, scoring once, and has also played 13 times in the Qatari Second Division, where he scored one goal. His experience includes European qualifying football, with appearances in both Europa League qualifying and Uefa Europa Conference League qualifying.

Before moving into Bulgarian football, Diabate spent time in France with Amiens SC and Borgo. He joined Borgo on loan from Amiens in January 2023, returned to Amiens at the end of that season and subsequently moved to Botev Plovdiv as a free transfer in February 2024.

The defender began his club career with LFA before joining Amiens SC B in October 2021. He later progressed to Amiens’ senior side, and his career has since taken him through several leagues and loan assignments.

Vardar have now secured Diabate’s arrival, with the Ivorian defender registered as the club’s latest addition on 25 August 2026.
