Sion Oppong: Bayer Leverkusen eye move for Brommapojkarna winger

Sweden-Ghana winger Sion Oppong of Brommapojkarna is being linked with a move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen as the German club monitor one of the Allsvenskan’s emerging wide attackers.

The 18-year-old left winger has broken into the Brommapojkarna first team this season, making 11 league appearances in the 2026 Allsvenskan with two goals and one assist, featuring in 67% of the club’s starting line-ups and involved in 18% of their goals while on the pitch. His rapid progression has attracted interest from Leverkusen, who are understood to be tracking wide options ahead of forthcoming windows.

Oppong’s current market valuation stands at €450,000, a figure that would make him a comparatively low-cost target for a Bundesliga club should interest develop into formal talks. There is no indication yet of any agreement between the clubs, and the level of Leverkusen’s intent is described as exploratory at this stage.

The winger joined Brommapojkarna’s senior set-up in January 2025 from the club’s U17 side and has since gained experience through loan spells with Viggbyholms IK and FC Stockholm before returning to establish himself back in the Allsvenskan. That run of regular top-flight minutes in 2026 has coincided with his rise in valuation to its current career high.

Oppong is currently under contract at Brommapojkarna, who are not under immediate pressure to sell and could use his recent breakthrough campaign as leverage in any negotiations should Leverkusen decide to move forward.
