Trabzonspor secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig, with Congolese striker Simon Banza stealing the spotlight with a decisive brace. The win on Sunday, part of the league’s seventh matchday, ends Trabzonspor’s streak of five consecutive draws and lifts the team to ninth place in the standings.

The match began in favor of the home side, Trabzonspor, who quickly set the tone.

Edin Visca opened the scoring in the 16th minute, capitalizing on an early opportunity to give his team the lead.

However, Konyaspor responded shortly after, leveling the score at 1-1 as the visitors sought to assert themselves.

The turning point came just before halftime, when Simon Banza stepped up and delivered the first of his two crucial goals.

Awarded a penalty deep into stoppage time in the first half, Banza made no mistake, coolly slotting home in the 45+4 minute to restore Trabzonspor’s advantage at 2-1.

The Congolese international, who joined Trabzonspor from Portuguese side Braga, continued his stellar performance after the break.

In the 54th minute, Banza doubled his tally for the night with a well-taken goal, extending Trabzonspor’s lead to 3-1.

His precision and composure in front of goal proved pivotal for his team, as they took firm control of the game.

Banza’s contribution did not go unnoticed, with fans and pundits alike praising his ability to rise to the occasion.

His two goals bring his career tally to an impressive 92 goals, further solidifying his role as one of Trabzonspor’s key attacking options.

After a tireless display, Banza was substituted in the 90th minute to a round of applause from the home supporters.

Konyaspor, however, refused to go down quietly and managed to pull a goal back before the final whistle, making it 3-2.

Despite their late efforts, Trabzonspor’s defense held firm, ensuring the three points remained with the hosts.

This victory marks Trabzonspor’s first win after a run of five successive draws, a crucial result that sees them move up to ninth in the table with eight points and a game in hand.

The result gives the team renewed momentum as they look to climb further up the standings.

Banza’s impressive form will undoubtedly be a major boost for Trabzonspor as they aim to build on this victory in the coming weeks.

His leadership on the pitch and ability to deliver in key moments has quickly made him a fan favorite, and his performance against Konyaspor is likely to strengthen his position as a vital asset for the team.
