Simba SC stars Jonathan Sowah and Allasane Kante banned for five games

Simba SC have been dealt a heavy setback after key players Jonathan Sowah and Allasane Kante were handed five-match bans for unsportsmanlike conduct in their Premier League clash against Azam FC on December 7, 2025, at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

The disciplinary action follows incidents in which both players were found guilty of serious foul play during the heated encounter.

According to the League Management and Operations Committee, Sowah was suspended and fined one million shillings “…for the crime of elbowing Azam FC midfielder, Himid Mao… “. Midfielder Allasane Kante received the same punishment and fine of one million shillings “…for the crime of deliberately kicking Azam FC midfielder, Feisal Salum… “.

Match officials were also sanctioned, with referee Abdallah Mwinyimkuu “…..has been removed from the list of referees for five rounds for….for failing to take action against the players” (Sowah and Kante).

In a separate case, Singida Black Stars midfielder Khalid Aucho was banned for five matches and fined one million shillings “…for hitting and pushing TRA United player Adam Adam”, in a match TRA United won 3-1. Referee Alex Pacras received a stern warning for failing to take action against Aucho during that game.
