Silvano Nagana: Guinea-Bissau midfielder joins O Elvas on free transfer from Alverca B

Guinea-Bissau defensive midfielder Silvano Nagana has joined Portuguese side O Elvas on a free transfer from Alverca B. The 21-year-old has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 with the Campeonato de Portugal Serie C club.

Nagana, a left-footed holding midfielder standing at 1.84m, switches across the same division as O Elvas look to reinforce the centre of their midfield. His arrival follows a year with Alverca B, whom he also joined as a free agent.

Last season, Nagana featured across Portugal’s lower divisions and cup competitions, making league appearances in both Serie B and Serie D of the Campeonato de Portugal and playing in the Liga U23 set-up. He also scored once in two outings in the Taca de Portugal, underlining his ability to contribute in advanced areas despite his primarily defensive role.

The move to O Elvas continues a steady rise through the Portuguese system for the Guinea-Bissau-born player, who previously turned out for Guarda FC and Olivais e Moscavide after leaving Leixoes’ under-23 side. His early development included spells with the youth teams of Leixoes and Famalicao.

By tying Nagana down until 2027, O Elvas have secured a young, senior-level defensive midfielder on a long-term contract following his departure from Alverca B on a free transfer.
