Shooting Stars bring in Nigeria midfielder Kalu Nweke from Enyimba
Kalu Nweke has joined Shooting Stars, giving the Nigerian club a new central-midfield option after his move from NPFL rivals Enyimba Aba.
The 27-year-old completed the switch on 9 August 2026 and has agreed a contract with Shooting Stars until 30 June 2027. Both clubs compete in the Nigeria Professional Football League, meaning Nweke will remain in the top flight after changing employers.
Nweke arrives with experience of winning domestic honours, having been part of the Rangers International side that became Nigerian champions during the 2023-24 season. That title is the midfielder’s only recorded major achievement.
Born in Owerri, Nweke is a Nigeria international at club level and plays primarily in central midfield. He is right-footed and stands 1.80m tall, attributes that further define the profile of the player joining Shooting Stars.
His arrival adds an established domestic midfielder to a squad competing in the same league in which he previously represented Enyimba. Nweke’s move also keeps him in Nigeria’s top division while opening a new chapter after his time with the Aba-based club.
The transfer brings a change of NPFL surroundings for Nweke, who now continues his career with Shooting Stars under a contract running for the 2026-27 campaign.
