Shandre Campbell: South African winger swaps Club Brugge for KV Kortrijk in Jupiler Pro League move

South Africa winger Shandre Campbell has joined KV Kortrijk from Belgian champions Club Brugge, signing a long-term deal with the Jupiler Pro League side. The 21-year-old left-footer has agreed a contract until 30 June 2030 after finalising his switch on 20 July 2026.

Johannesburg-born Campbell arrives in Kortrijk having broken into the Brugge first team last season following his promotion from feeder side Club NXT in February 2025. Comfortable on the left wing, the 1.78m attacker offers pace and direct running from wide areas for his new club.

Campbell’s move continues a rapid rise in European football since he left South African club SuperSport United for Club NXT in July 2024. He initially came through SuperSport’s reserve ranks before stepping up to the first team and earning his transfer to Belgium.

The winger has already gained experience across domestic and continental competitions, featuring in the Jupiler Pro League, its championship play-offs and the UEFA Champions League. Across league and cup football, he has delivered a mixture of goals and assists, including a standout spell in the Challenger Pro League with 11 goals and three assists in 25 matches and a prolific Nedbank Cup campaign with three goals in three games.

Campbell leaves Brugge having collected significant silverware early in his career. He was part of squads that won the Belgian Cup, the Belgian league title and the Belgian Super Cup in the 2025-26 season.

The 21-year-old now begins a new chapter at KV Kortrijk, committing his future to the club on a contract running through to the summer of 2030.
