Shady Hussein’s fifth career brace earns Arab Contractors victory over El Gouna

Shady Hussein scored twice as Arab Contractors beat El Gouna 2-0 in their opening Group Stage match of Egypt’s Capital Cup.

The 33-year-old broke the deadlock in the 81st minute, converting a chance created by Joseph Ochaya. He struck again in the 88th minute to end El Gouna’s hopes of salvaging even a point.

The two-goal display was the fifth brace of Hussein’s career.

Hussein has scored twice in a single match for every club he has represented except Al Ahly. He previously achieved the feat with Ceramica Cleopatra, Arab Contractors and ZED.

The result gave Arab Contractors all three points and moved them level at the top of the group with Al Ahly, who began their campaign with a 5-0 victory over Petro Asyut.

The group contains five teams: Al Ahly, Arab Contractors, Al Sharqia, ENPPI, El Gouna and Petro Asyut.
