Seydou Doumbia: Ivorian Striker Set for Fenerbahçe Move

Olympique de Marseille’s pursuit of **Seydou Doumbia** appears to be over, with the Ivorian striker now on the verge of joining **Fenerbahçe** on loan.

According to *Sky Sports*, **AS Roma** have reached an agreement with the Turkish club for a six-month loan deal, which includes an option to buy. Doumbia, however, has yet to give his final approval, though all indications suggest Istanbul will be his next destination.

The news effectively ends weeks of speculation linking the 28-year-old with a move to **Marseille**, who had been eager to strengthen their attack this winter.

AS Roma’s sporting director **Walter Sabatini** had already ruled out a transfer to Ligue 1. Speaking to *L’Équipe*, he insisted: *“He will not go to OM.”*

Doumbia, who made his name with prolific spells at **CSKA Moscow**, has struggled to establish himself at Roma since his arrival in 2015. He spent part of last season on loan at his former club in Russia before moving to the English Premier League with **Newcastle United** on loan, where he found limited success.

For Marseille president **Vincent Labrune** and his management team, the collapse of this pursuit comes as a blow, particularly after other attacking targets also slipped away during the January window.

Unless there is a late twist, Doumbia’s future looks set in Turkey, leaving **OM** to continue their search for attacking reinforcements elsewhere.
