Stade de Reims have signed 18-year-old Malian midfielder Seydou Dembélé from the JMG Academy in Bamako, with the highly rated youngster set to join the club’s Révélations Elite group.

Dembélé’s move to France comes after interest from several major European clubs, but the young Mali international has chosen Reims as the next destination in his developing career.

The midfielder was trained at the Jean Marc Guilloux Academy in Bamako, one of the recognised football development centres in Mali. He made an impression during his time there with his technical ability and creativity.

Reims have now secured his arrival as they look to continue his development within their Révélations Elite group.

Dembélé is a left-footed midfielder whose technical qualities have stood out from an early stage. His ability to use the ball effectively has been one of the main features of his development at the Bamako academy.

The 18-year-old is also noted for his vision and his ability to influence matches through both passing and dribbling.

His technical repertoire is considered advanced for a player of his age, giving him several ways of affecting the game from midfield.

The move to Reims represents another step in Dembélé’s progression after developing his football in Mali and earning recognition at international level.

Despite attracting attention from clubs elsewhere in Europe, the midfielder has opted for Reims, where he will now continue his development as part of the club’s elite youth structure.

His arrival gives the French club a promising young player who has already developed a reputation for his creativity and technical quality.

Dembélé’s ability to combine close control, passing and dribbling has helped distinguish him during his time at the JMG Academy.

The next stage of his development will now take place in France, where Reims will work with the Malian teenager as he continues his transition towards senior football.

For Dembélé, the move represents an opportunity to build on the foundations established in Bamako while taking his career into a new environment.

Reims’ decision to bring him into their Révélations Elite group reflects the club’s intention to continue developing the young midfielder’s qualities.

With his international experience, technical ability and potential, Dembélé will now look to make the most of his opportunity with the French club.
