Sevilla open talks to sign Nigerian striker Akor Adams from Montpellier
Sevilla FC are reportedly in negotiations to sign Nigerian striker Akor Adams from French club Montpellier for a fee of approximately €5.5 million.
Renowned Italian football expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Thursday that the Spanish side is in advanced talks to secure the forward’s signature.
Romano stated, “Despite interest from other clubs, the deal is set to go through for €5.5m, with Adams heading to Sevilla.”
This season, Adams has contributed three goals and three assists for Montpellier, who currently sit at the bottom of Ligue 1. Losing one of their key players could be a blow for the struggling team.
Since his move to Montpellier from Norway in the summer of 2023, Adams has been a pivotal figure in their attack, scoring 13 goals in 49 appearances.
His potential move to Sevilla is expected to be permanent, although the exact terms of the deal are yet to be disclosed.
Montpellier, facing financial difficulties and the threat of relegation to Ligue 2, have been looking to raise funds in the January transfer window, with Adams regarded as one of the club’s most valuable assets.
