The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has officially unveiled the list of seven approved candidates set to contest its upcoming presidential election, scheduled for 2 August 2025.
The selection process adhered to the Federation’s eligibility standards, which stipulate that candidates must be Senegalese residents, aged between 21 and 80, possess demonstrable experience within the footballing domain, and have no criminal record.
The list of contenders spans a wide spectrum of football backgrounds and affiliations, reflecting both institutional continuity and the emergence of new leadership ambitions.
The confirmed candidates and their affiliated clubs are:
- Moustapha Camara – Coton Sport
- Abdou Thierry Camara – Demba Diop FC
- Augustin Emmanuel Senghor – US Gorée
- Oumar Ndiaye – AS Yakaar
- Abdoulaye Fall – AS Bambey
- Aliou Goloko – Block 16 Diamaguène Academy
- Mady Touré – Teungueth FC / GFC
Among the list is Augustin Senghor, a familiar figure in Senegalese football and a longstanding executive within the FSF, bringing a wealth of experience and institutional knowledge to the table.
His candidacy is likely to appeal to those who favour continuity and established governance.
Conversely, entrants such as Aliou Goloko and Mady Touré represent a newer generation of football stakeholders, both of whom are known for their contributions at the grassroots and club levels.
Their presence in the race signals a push for innovation and a possible shift in approach, particularly with regard to youth development and club infrastructure.
As the campaign period officially begins, the footballing community in Senegal is expected to engage vigorously with the competing visions laid out by each candidate.
From reform proposals to developmental strategies and transparency pledges, the platforms presented will be key in swaying member votes.
This election comes at a pivotal time for Senegalese football, as the national sport seeks to consolidate recent international successes and further professionalise domestic structures.
The leadership chosen in August will play a decisive role in shaping the FSF’s strategic direction for years to come.
