Seun Ogunribide: Nigeria-Benin left-back joins Mogadishu City on free transfer

Nigeria-Benin defender Seun Ogunribide has joined Mogadishu City from Kwara United on a free transfer, strengthening the Somali side’s options at left-back. The 22-year-old moves after leaving the Nigeria Premier Football League club and will continue his career in East Africa following the completion of the deal on 24 July 2026.

Ogunribide, who is comfortable operating on the left side of defence, arrives at Mogadishu City with an estimated market value of around €25,000. His switch follows a spell in the NPFL with Kwara United, where he developed his reputation in Nigeria’s top flight before opting for a new challenge abroad.

The move represents a significant change of environment for the dual-nationality full-back, who now transitions from the Nigerian league system to Somali football. At 22, he joins Mogadishu City with senior experience already behind him and with the opportunity to establish himself as a first-team option on the club’s left flank.

Ogunribide leaves Kwara United having made the step from domestic Nigerian competition into an international club setting for the first time in his career. His free transfer gives Mogadishu City added flexibility in their squad building as they prepare for upcoming campaigns.

The deal sees Ogunribide officially registered as a Mogadishu City player following his departure from Kwara United.
