Serhou Guirassy reaches 100-match milestone with record-breaking Dortmund double

Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy marked his 100th appearance for Borussia Dortmund by scoring twice in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Villarreal in the opening round of the UEFA Champions League.

The landmark had added significance for the 30-year-old, who said he had not realised before kick-off that he was about to reach a century of appearances for the German club. The Guinean forward joined Dortmund from Stuttgart in 2024 and has quickly established himself as one of the club’s most effective attacking players, particularly in European competition. His two goals against Villarreal lifted him to second place in Dortmund’s all-time UEFA Champions League scoring list.

Only Marco Reus stands ahead of him, with 24 goals in the competition for the club.
