Serginho joins Cambodian club Boeung Ket on free transfer

Portugal-Angola midfielder Serginho has joined Cambodian club Boeung Ket on a free transfer, completing his move from the status of an unattached player on 1 August 2026.

The 29-year-old defensive midfielder becomes part of Boeung Ket’s squad in Cambodia’s C. Premier League after leaving Kabuscorp SC earlier in 2026. Serginho’s arrival follows a spell without a club that began on 2 January, when his time with the Angolan side ended.

Serginho previously played for Kabuscorp during the 2025-26 season after joining from Lusitania on a free transfer in August 2025. His stay at Kabuscorp lasted until the beginning of January, before he became available to move on without a fee.

The midfielder has also represented Sliema Wanderers, FC Van, Casarano, PO Xylotymbou, UD Melilla and Botev Vratsa during a career that has taken him through clubs in several European leagues. He joined Sliema Wanderers from FC Van in July 2024, with both moves recorded as free transfers.

A right-footed player standing 1.86m tall, Serginho has operated primarily in the defensive midfield position. His career record includes 19 appearances in the efbet Liga, 13 in the Premier League and 13 in the 2. Division, as well as appearances in the Taca de Portugal, Coppa Serie D, the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds and domestic cup competitions in Armenia, Cyprus and Malta.

He made seven appearances in Serie D – Group H and featured in four Coppa Serie D matches. Earlier in his career, he played in Portugal for Lusitano Evora, Sintrense, SC Ideal, Cova Piedade 23, Fabril Barreiro, Palmellense and Quinta do Conde, having started at Barreirense Under-19 level.

Serginho’s move to Boeung Ket marks another free-transfer switch in a career that has included regular changes of club since he entered senior football. He joins the Cambodian side after his most recent spell in Angola and begins a new chapter in Southeast Asia.

The transfer was completed on 1 August 2026, with Serginho joining Boeung Ket as a free agent.
