SERGE NYUIADZI CLAIMS SECOND CONSECUTIVE TITLE WITH ZALGIRIS VILNIUS
Togolese forward Serge Nyuiadzi has secured his second straight Lithuanian league title with Zalgiris Vilnius, as the club clinched the championship in style with a 5-1 victory over Ekranas on Saturday. The win sealed the title with four matches remaining, marking a dominant campaign.
This triumph adds to Zalgiris’s Super Cup win earlier in the season, making it a domestic double for the club. Nyuiadzi, who started the match, didn’t find the back of the net but contributed an assist, keeping his season tally at nine goals.
Trained at OGC Nice, the 22-year-old has enjoyed a breakout period in Lithuania and remains on the radar of the Togolese national team.
“The Togolese selection? It’s a personal goal, obviously. For the moment, I’m focused on my personal development and club objectives. That’s what it comes down to. If I perform well and am in shape, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t happen,” Nyuiadzi said earlier this season.
With consistent performances and silverware to his name, a call-up to the Hawks may not be far off for the ambitious striker.
