Simba SC have signed Ivory Coast centre-back Serge Badjo on a free transfer from Algerian side USM Khenchela. The 23-year-old moves to the Tanzanian giants after leaving the Ligue 1 club at the end of his spell in Algeria.

Badjo arrives as a central defensive option for Simba, who have turned to the Ivorian after his time in North African football. The deal sees the Dar es Salaam club secure the player without paying a transfer fee, despite his most recent market valuation being listed at around 200,000.

A specialist at centre-back, Badjo has spent his recent career in Algerias top flight with USM Khenchela. His performances there earned him a place in a competitive Ligue 1 environment, providing top-level experience before his switch to East Africa.

At 23, the defender now makes a continental move within African football, leaving Algerias Ligue 1 for one of Tanzanias leading clubs. The transfer underlines Simbas intent to strengthen their defensive line with players who have already featured in established leagues on the continent.

Badjos move from USM Khenchela to Simba SC is completed as a free transfer, adding the Ivorian centre-back to the Tanzanian clubs squad ahead of the new campaign.
