Lamine Camara has been named AS Monaco’s Player of the Month for April 2025, underlining his growing importance to the Ligue 1 side’s midfield.

The Senegalese international, who has established himself as a key figure in the Principality club’s engine room this season, was recognised by supporters and club staff alike for a string of influential performances throughout the month.

This marks the second time Camara has earned the accolade this season, having also picked up the honour in January.

April proved to be a standout month for the 20-year-old who delivered consistently high-level displays as Monaco pushed forward in their domestic campaign.

One of his most notable performances came in the early days of the month against Olympique de Marseille, where Camara came agonisingly close to registering a stunning assist for teammate Maghnes Akliouche.

Though the chance narrowly went unconverted, the move showcased Camara’s creativity and vision in midfield.

His contribution was not limited to playmaking. Camara also found the back of the net twice during April, underlining his ability to influence the game in the final third.

In addition to his goals, he was named Man of the Match on three separate occasions across the fixtures played that month, a testament to his dominance in midfield and consistency across multiple games.

Camara’s performances have been characterised by composure on the ball, excellent positional awareness, and a growing confidence in leading Monaco’s transitions from defence to attack.

His ability to link up with both the defence and the forward line has made him a central figure in manager Adi Hütter’s tactical setup.

Having joined Monaco as a promising prospect, Camara has quickly evolved into a dependable first-team regular.

His development has been closely followed not only by fans in the principality but also by observers in his native Senegal, where he is seen as one of the most exciting young talents in the national team pool.

This latest recognition solidifies Camara’s status as one of Monaco’s standout performers in the 2024–2025 season.

The Player of the Month award, determined through a combination of fan votes and club evaluation, reflects both his statistical impact and his less tangible contributions such as leadership and work rate that have become hallmarks of his game.

With the season approaching its final stages, Monaco will be hoping Camara can maintain his form as they aim to secure a strong finish in the Ligue 1 standings.

For the player himself, continued consistency could open the door to greater international responsibilities with Senegal as well as increased attention from clubs across Europe.

As Monaco fans celebrate another month of midfield brilliance, Camara’s latest accolade is further proof of a breakout campaign that continues to exceed expectations.
