Senegalese winger Yaya Dieme is currently training with Chelsea. The 17-year-old is set to officially join the Blues upon turning 18 in October.
Dieme’s football journey began at the Diambars Academy in Senegal, an institution co-founded in 2003 by former football stars including Patrick Vieira, Bernard Lama, and Jimmy Adjovi-Boco.
Accompanied by Chelsea scout Achirou Gaoh, Dieme has been undergoing assessments at the club’s Cobham training facility.
His impressive performances have caught the attention of Chelsea’s coaching staff, leading to plans for his integration into the club’s roster later this year.
Following his official signing in October, Dieme is expected to be loaned to Chelsea’s French sister club, Strasbourg, in January 2026.
This strategic move aims to provide him with valuable playing time and experience in European football, facilitating his development before returning to Chelsea to compete in the Premier League.
The Diambars Academy is celebrated for its dual focus on academic education and football training, aiming to develop well-rounded individuals both on and off the pitch.
Since its inception, Diambars has trained approximately 500 players, with over 60 advancing to professional football careers, and boasts an 80% success rate in national examinations among its students.
