Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara reflects on breakout season with AS Monaco

Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara has returned to first-team training with AS Monaco after spending six weeks on the sidelines with an ankle sprain.

The 21-year-old sustained the injury during training ahead of Monaco’s UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester City, which ended in a 2-2 draw on October 1.

He had been recovering in a protective boot but has now resumed work with the squad.

Camara took part in Friday afternoon’s session at La Turbie. However, he did not complete the full session, stepping aside after the warm-up to continue with an individual training program.

While Camara’s full return to competitive action is expected after the international break, he will not feature in Monaco’s upcoming fixture against RC Lens on Saturday.

Denis Zakaria, Lukas Hradecky, and Eric Dier also took part in the session as they continue their recoveries and could be in contention for the weekend match against Les Sang et Or.

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba, who picked up an ankle sprain last week, was absent from training.
