Senegalese midfielder Aboubacar Diop has taken the next major step in his professional career after completing a move to Tunisia’s top flight side Stade Tunisien.
Diop joins the Tunisian club from Senegalese Ligue 1 side Teungueth FC, signing a contract that will keep him at the Tunisian club for the next two and a half years.
However, Teungueth FC has paid a tribute to the departing midfielder, wishing him success as he embarks on a new chapter abroad.
“We are pleased to announce the departure of our midfielder Papa Aboubacar Diop, who has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Stade Tunisien. Good luck and all the best for your future career, Aboubacar.” wrote the club.
The move marks Diop’s first experience outside Senegal and represents a significant opportunity to test himself in a more competitive environment. Stade Tunisien, who are currently sitting third in the Tunisian Ligue 1 standings, see the acquisition as a strategic addition as they strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season and beyond.
With his arrival, Stade Tunisien add a promising and talented midfielder to their ranks, while Diop will be hoping to quickly adapt to his new surroundings and make an immediate impact as he begins his journey in North African football.
