Diambars’ 2013–2014 season is clearly unraveling into one to forget. From defending champions to being eliminated in the Senegal Cup Round of 32 and currently sitting 6th in the league, 8 points behind Jaraaf, their drop in form is sharp and concerning.
The Cup exit at the hands of Casa Sports, a team struggling near the relegation zone, adds insult to injury. Losing on penalties after managing to equalize shows some fight, but not enough to reverse their overall downward trajectory.
Already out of continental competition early, Diambars’ campaign has been marked by inconsistency, with their only emphatic win coming way back on matchday 8 (a 4-0 against OL Ngor). Since then, the spark seems to have faded.
With 10 league matches remaining and a difficult tie against USO (2nd) next, the challenge to reclaim the title feels increasingly out of reach unless there’s a dramatic turnaround in form and mindset.
