Senegalese defender Joseph Layousse Samb shines again as Stade Lavallois earn crucial win at Bastia

Joseph Layousse Samb delivered another decisive performance for Stade Lavallois as the Senegalese defender scored his second goal for the club in a crucial 2–0 victory over Bastia in their rescheduled Ligue 2 fixture on Tuesday.

The match, originally set for the 11th round of the campaign, saw Laval assert control against a struggling Bastia side at the Stade Armand-Cesari.

Olivier Frapolli’s men approached the contest with urgency, knowing the result could prove pivotal in their battle to avoid relegation, and their intensity was rewarded before half-time.

The Corsican club remains rooted to the bottom of the table and now sits eight points behind Laval following their latest setback.
