Abdou Diallo is reportedly set to leave Al Arabi SC on loan to Umm Salal SC for the remainder of the Qatari season, sources from RMC Sport indicate.
The 29-year-old Senegalese centre-back aims to regain regular playing time after a challenging period since his move to Qatar.
Diallo arrived in Qatar in 2023, signing with Al Arabi SC following his European career, which included a stint at PSG.
Soon after, he was loaned to Al Duhail SC, a spell curtailed by injury that required surgery and severely limited his appearances.
The defender spent much of that time focusing on recovery and fitness, leaving him eager to secure a fresh opportunity to rebuild his form.
The prospective move to Umm Salal SC offers a clear path for Diallo to regain match sharpness.
The club reportedly presents both a competitive sporting project and attractive financial terms, surpassing recent interest from European sides such as Anderlecht and Nice, as well as MLS outfit Los Angeles FC.
If the deal is finalised, Diallo could make his debut as soon as Friday, reinforcing Umm Salal’s defence ahead of the crucial final months of the season.
Sources indicate the loan agreement would allow the Senegalese international to compete regularly while Al Arabi SC retains long-term control over his contract, which expires in June.
For Diallo, the loan represents a pivotal chance to re-establish himself at club level and maintain his career trajectory following the setbacks in his first Qatari campaigns.
Umm Salal SC, meanwhile, gains an experienced international defender capable of contributing immediately to the squad’s ambitions.
