Senegal youngster Samba Diallo has categorically refuted reports claiming he has switched allegiance to play for the Guinea national team.
Earlier reports suggested Diallo has decided to switched nationality to play for Guinea following a series of conversations with head coach Kaba Diawara.
But the 22-year-old, who is a former U20 African champion has swiftly refuted such reports.
“I received this information just like you, and I want to assure you that I am and will remain a Senegalese international,” he wrote. “I was born Senegalese, and I feel Senegalese. This nation has given me everything, and I must give it everything back. My only option is the A selection of my country.”
Despite Guinea reaching out, Diallo has committed to the Senegalese national team.
However, the winger, who’s on loan at Hapoel Jerusalem from Dynamo Kyiv has vowed to push in an attempt to secure call up into the national team.
After a difficult professional career that included few appearances at Dynamo Kyiv, Diallo was loaned to Hapoel Jerusalem.
However, he is still optimistic about being included in the senior squad because of his impressive achievements with Senegal’s younger teams, which have kept his future in international football in focus.
